Sharing is caring!

LEAPThe Legionella and Environmental Action Platform (LEAP 02) will take place at the Discovery Centre in Milton Keynes on 19th of June 2015. LEAP is a charitable not-for-profit water quality event, where delegates debate water quality issues in an open forum. It only costs £95 and all profits go to a water charity. Follow this link for more details and to sign up. There are limited number of places, so hurry!

The event is the second in the series, following the success of last year’s event. LEAP is set up in a way so that everybody can participate in the debate/discussion. There are five tables each chaired by a leading authority in water quality and infection control. This year’s event has the following experts chairing, and the subjects to be discussed are highlighted in bold:

  • Dr Jimmy Walker (Principle Investigator at Public Health England) – Pseudomonas aeruginosa.

  • Professor Clive Thomson (Professor of Chemistry at Alcontrol Laboratories) and Sonal Patel (Microbiologist at Alpha Scientific) – Chemical and microbial analysis.

  • Dr Birgitta Bedford (PhD Legionella control) – Biofilms and bacterial growth in water systems.

  • Dr Sam Collins (Legionella Microbiologist at Public Health england) – Legionella and other hospital acquired infections.

  • Toby Thorp (City of London Environmental Health Officer) and John Foxall (Estates Engineer at Kidderminster Hospital) – Estates and compliance.

L.E.A.P is a new take on the seminar circuit. No more lecturing and stale coffee, but an open discussion instead, where you can debate your Legionella and Pseudomonas issues with leading experts and come up with proactive and shared solutions. Create your agenda, discuss your issues, so you can solve your problems.
