At ProEconomy, we have a host accreditations and certifications for our water treatment and management service. But, what exactly do they mean and why do they matter?
WRAS Approval
Water fittings which carry or receive water from the public mains water supply must comply with the Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations. To comply, water fittings must not cause waste, undue consumption or contamination of the water supply. Our WRAS product approval is confirmation that our Orca copper silver ionisation system meets this quality and standard.
HTM0401
HTM0401 contains legislation for the installation, commissioning, testing, monitoring and operation of water supply systems in UK healthcare premises. Published by the Department of Health and Social Care, the document also gives advice and guidance on the control of Legionella, Pseudomonas and other water borne pathogens.
Our compliance with HTM0401 gives further reassurance to our clients that they are running a fully compliant and lawful site when our Orca system is installed.
ACOPL8
The Legionnaires’ disease Approved Code of Practice (ACOP) (L8) helps duty-holders to legally comply when it comes to Legionella control. Our compliance with ACOPL8 is another step we take to ensure full compliance and safety for our clients.
Article 95
Article 95 of the Biocidal Products Regulation (EU) No 528/2012 (BPR) is essentially a list of relevant active substances and suppliers (substance and product). This list aims to ensure the equal treatment of persons placing active substances on the market.
ProEconomy are included on the article 95 list for copper and silver on product types 5 and 11 (bathing and drinking water).
Therefore, this means that our Orca copper silver ionisation system can be used to control Legionella and Pseudomonas bacteria in water systems throughout the UK.
Legionella Control Association
Most recently, we became a Legionella Control Association registered company. Comprising of service providers, manufacturers, installers and consultancies which offer products or services associated with the control of Legionella, our LCA membership is a demonstration of our commitment to high standards of service.

Royal Warrant
Last but certainly not least is our Royal Warrant for Water Treatment Services to Her Majesty The Queen.
Companies receive Royal Warrants after supplying goods or services for five consecutive years to the Queen, Duke of Edinburgh or the Prince of Wales.
We are extremely proud to be Royal Warrant Holders and hope it represents to our clients the exemplary water treatment service we provide.
All of our accreditations and certifications are acknowledgements of our high levels of service and commitment to Legionella control. To find out more, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
